PRG GEARHOUSE is the region’s largest Event Technology provider and is continuing its rapid expansion and growth across the Gulf States. As part of this expansion we are searching for candidates with the right energy, commitment and passion for the events and entertainment industry.
We currently have a vacancy for a Lighting Engineer. You must be experienced in working on mid to large-scale events and hold a flair for design. You will be responsible for all elements of the show and carry this out in a professional and competent manner.
Key responsibilities and duties will include:
- Working from and interpreting a lighting plan, including preparation of equipment specifications, electrical calculations and configurations from drawings.
- Coordinating equipment show prep stage of a project at the Company’s warehouse facilities. Liaising with the Operations Department, in the completion of the show prep process.
- Rigging, focusing and operating necessary lighting equipment.
- Working with automated fixtures and dimmers.
- Programming and operating various lighting consoles.
- Supervising a team onsite. Liaising with the customer and source all relevant production details (in particular identifying exceptional requirements).
- Maintaining the lighting equipment in a good, safe and efficient working condition.
- Taking on frontline electrical maintenance duties when needed.
- Operating within current health and safety regulations to ensure a safe environment
- Keeping abreast of the advances in technologies and techniques in the industry.
Skills and attributes required:
- Previous experience in a similar role with a detailed knowledge of all aspects of lighting technology
- Good knowledge of power distribution and load calculations.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Previous experience of supervising a team.
- Excellent computer skills including all Microsoft Office application.
- Good analytical and problem solving skills.
- Good working knowledge of CAD, WYSIWYG, Vectorworks would be advantageous.
- Excellent organisational skills and the ability to multi task.
- Must display a positive and can do attitude both in the warehouse and on-site.
- Ability to understand and comply with the Company’s Health and Safety Rules
