About the role
Production at the VCA encompasses all aspects of design and technical production for live performance – set & props, costume, sound, lighting, digital media & projection, and stage management. The Lecturer in Production (Lighting Design) will contribute to the delivery of teaching programs in Production with particular expertise in Lighting Design, though will also teach into other areas, as appropriate.
Key components to this role will be the demonstrated ability to influence and stimulate the student experience through utilising a range of learning and teaching initiatives and supervising students on VCA productions. The appointee will be responsible for coordinating key areas of the VCA Production curriculum and discreet cohorts of students within VCA Production, such as year level coordination.

About you
You will have a doctoral qualification (or equivalent industry experience) and an established reputation primarily as a lighting designer and practitioner, with a demonstrated record of excellence in professional practice across a variety of live art forms including multi-media. Appropriate teaching experience in higher education, experience in curriculum design and subject coordination and high level organizational, administrative and interpersonal skills are required.
