Excellent opportunity for a superstar technician, specialising in Lighting to be a leader in our technical services.

RPAC proudly presents a rich and diverse program of events, performances and workshops sourced locally, nationally, and internationally. With access to excellent music, drama, theatre, dance and more we appeal to a broad cross section of audiences and participants.

Redland City Council and the Creative Arts Team are committed to the professional development of its team, with a range of training and development opportunity every year. Our Venue delivers nearly 400 diverse activities in a year, in technical services you will have the golden opportunity to make you mark in the industry.

This exciting position will see you leading teams of technicians to facilitate the technical requirements of events and productions in a high-pressure hands-on team environment. This will involve supervising backstage during events, managing and resolving WH&S issues, liaising with Front of House in relation to event logistics, act as venue fire warden, fault find and rectify problems and be the point of call for the technical department during events.

Do you have experience delivering high-quality industry standard technical services within the Lighting discipline? Are you confident with decision making and working effectively under limited supervision in a hands-on team environment? Can you contribute knowledge of current theatre equipment and systems, as well as having the ability to translate technical production notes and requirements to set up, fault find, operate, and maintain production equipment, systems, and effects? Eligibility

  • You’ll hold a current “C” class driver’s licence.
  • You’ll have a Certificate 3 in Live Production and Technical services, or have a suitable entertainment industry trade or tertiary qualification.
  • You will be available to work as per operational requirements in conjunction with the scheduling of venue/s within the allotted full time hours per week, which may or may not include pre-determined rosters during evenings and weekends.
