Your opportunity

Based in the heart of Redlands City, Redland Performing Arts Centre (RPAC) is a professional venue, located in Cleveland and is owned and operated by Redland City Council. The venue is a buzz of activity year round, presenting programs of diverse experiences, as well as servicing the many professional and community clients who utilise the space and services every year. We have a wonderful opportunity for the right person to fill the role as our Lead Theatre Technician Audio.

Guided by our Values, you will:

Lead the team of technicians in multiple venues to facilitate the technical requirements of events and productions in a high-pressure hands-on team environment.

Undertake a variety of duties including supervision of staff and operations, liaising with the Front of House, manage and resolve WH&S issues, manual handling including setting portable stage, installing and uninstalling stage flooring, painting, maintain production equipment.

  • Initiate and drive ownership to ensure all RPAC, RAG and RCC safety regulations are followed, and safe work practices are observed in accordance with regulation, industry standards, policies and procedures.

  • Has a fresh, positive outlook with a passion for the creative tasks and extensive knowledge of current theatre equipment and systems.
  • Has experience delivering high-quality industry standard technical services within relevant discipline (Sound, Lighting, Staging or Audio Visual).
  • Has extensive knowledge of current theatre equipment and systems within one or more disciplines.
  • Has demonstrated ability to translate technical production notes and requirements to set up, fault find, operate, and maintain production equipment, systems, and effects within one or more technical disciplines.

Eligibility

  • You’ll hold Current “C” class driver’s license. 

You’ll be available to work as per operational requirements in conjunction with the scheduling of venue/s within the allotted Full-Time hours per week, which may or may not include pre-determined rosters during evenings and weekends. 

  • You’ll have a Certificate 3 in Live Production and Technical services, or suitable entertainment industry, trade or tertiary qualifications.

  • To be eligible for employment, applicants must have the legal right to work in Australia.
