The winners of the 2015 LDI Awards were announced at the Live Design International Show in Las Vegas, on October 24.
In the category of booth awards, the award for best small booth went to the fabric company Dazian. Lightwave International was cited for most creative use of light. Cited for best product display was the moving light manufacturer GLP. Blizzard Lighting won in the best large booth category, cited for its use of the popular trussing product ModTruss.
Among the winning products, the award for best widget went to TMB’s Pro Plex EZ-LAN Unity 20; the product allows one to set up networks quickly. Honorable mention went to RC4 Wireless for the RC4 Magic DMX Pix and Enttec’s LED Mapper. The award for special effects product went to Lightwave International for the Lixel, a full colour-mixing laser array. The winner in the staging and rigging category was PRG for the GroundControl remote followspot system. In the category of projection products, the winner was Christie for the Boxer 30K projector. Honorable mention went to Shenzen Qianzhan Vision Electron Technology Co. Ltd. for iMira, and Dataton for WATCHOUT 6. The lighting category produced two winners: The ARRI Sky Panel S-60-C soft light and Clay Paky’s Spheriscan. Honorable mention went to Elation Professional’s Platinum FLX and GLP for new additions to the X4 family of fixtures.
The Paky Award, named after Pasquale “Paky” Quadri, founder of Clay Paky, went to Fred Foster, founder of ETC.
