Laservision Light Up Orange

Laservision wowed audiences with their newest dazzling LASER and Light display for ‘Light Up Orange,’ a new event aimed at creating a safer, more immersive and environmentally friendly NYE celebration.

Over 120 watts of full-colour lasers immersed the audience in 360-degrees of laser light and over 50 high-powered beam lights combined to produce about 3-million lux and over 9000 watts. Control was provided via Laservision media servers with laser and DMX control.

This modern sensory experience was created for the New Year’s Eve celebration entertaining thousands of community spectators at Wayde Park, Orange, NSW. The 16-minute light spectacular was a huge success with thousands watching from the venue as well as thousands more from the Live Stream that was broadcasted due to the event being sold out and to provide a safe environment during COVID restrictions.

The NYE event featured local food providers, live music, and indigenous performances. As the crowds gathered, ‘Light Up Orange’ began with a Welcome to Country and featured first peoples traditional dance and performances, followed by the main light show event.

“We were so excited to produce this incredible show for Orange and the surrounding communities in a year that has been challenging for all. We are all in need of a little celebration and look forward to the New Year,” says Mr. Shannon Brooks, CEO of Laservision.

“We are also very proud and fortunate to be producing incredible events around Australia and the World during times like these. Being able to offer incredible, unique, COVID safe entertainment experiences to our local communities, who need live entertainment more than ever these days, is truly an honour,” continued Brooks.

The ‘Light Up Orange’ light show featured a 16-minutes, 360-degree, immersive display incorporating high-intensity beam lights and powerful lasers that covered the venue and audience with dazzling effects synchronised to an epic soundtrack ringing in the New Year. It was proudly sponsored by Kennards Hire and Hosted by Light Up Central West, a not-for-profit group of local business representatives that support the Central West communities.

“There was plenty of challenges to put this event on . . .” said Craig McMahon, Regional Manager for Kennards Hire. “. . . massive time restraints, COVID compliance requirements and live streaming set up, all of which Laservision remained flexible to help us deliver an amazing event for the community.”

With recent COVID restrictions and concerns surrounding NYE celebrations around NSW, ‘Light Up Orange’ was an entirely new concept incorporating a 360-degree experience immersing the audience a unique and spectacular display of laser, lights, special effects and sound all experienced in a COVID safe environment adhering to strict social distancing protocols.

A live broadcast was streamed to YouTube for community members who were unable to acquire tickets due to the sold-out event and still wanted to celebrate NYE with an array of lights and LASERs.

Orange Mayor Reg Kidd congratulated the organisers for getting the New Year’s Eve party off the ground and thanked them for persisting with planning amid the uncertainty of COVID-19 restrictions.
