Laservision Coast to Coast for NYE

Australia was aglow from coast to coast for Australia Day with LASERVISION’s latest Water, Light and Sound show events on display in Wollongong, NSW and Mandurah, WA. Created for Australia Day night-time celebrations for Wollongong and Mandurah City Councils, the spectacular lighting events entertained thousands of spectators from the 23rd to the 26th of January.

MANDURAH, WA
Over a 4-day period, audiences in Mandurah were entertained with a spectacular show with customised content celebrating the story and culture of the local community. The 15-minute experiences incorporated a vast array of mediums including – high powered lasers, projection technologies, moving-head fountains, intelligent lighting, special effects and customised water screens spanning 140 meters in length. The show ran for multiple nights, entertaining audiences located on both sides of the Eastern and Western foreshores of Mandjar Bay.

WOLLONGONG, NSW
Three unique, simultaneous activations were created for the Wollongong community. Spanning from North in Nicholson Park to the South at Kully Bay Park, LASERVISION created three audience experiences providing the Illawarra region with a unique COVID-safe offering to celebrate Australia Day. The lighting installations at Nicholson Park and Kully Bay Park were complemented by a Light, Laser, Water and Sound Experience in Belmore Basin. The hour-long show was choregraphed to a bespoke soundtrack and incorporated several high-powered lasers, intelligent lights and a floating fountain spanning 80 meters across the bay. To encourage social distancing the choreographed sound score was transmitted via FM frequency so audiences could experience the show from the comfort of their vehicles at dedicated viewing locations around the area.

“With ever-changing COVID safety measures and boarder restrictions implemented across the states and territories the logistical challenge of getting our team into WA from NSW as well as all of our equipment was extremely challenging.” said Mr Shannon Brooks, CEO of LASERVISION.

“Luckily, we were able to enlist the help of a number of local experts to support our on-the-ground team in WA. Working remotely, developing creative content, programming and creating the desired outcome with a short lead time is challenging enough, throw on-top of this, 14-day quarantine periods, changing COVID restrictions, and disruptions to logistical networks would seem all but impossible to surmount, however the LASERVISION team lifted to the challenge and delivered a spectacular performance for the Mandurah community in record time. We are extremely grateful for the support provided by the City of Mandurah and our long-time partners Panasonic in helping us achieve such an amazing outcome.
