Lab Gruppen has announced the new E 40:2 and E: 20:2, the newest additions to its E Series lineup of power amplifiers that are designed for installation applications.
Both housed in a 1RU package with stated power ratings of 4,000 and 2,000 watts, respectively, the E 40:2 and E 20:2 amplifiers offer two output channels. Incorporating Lab Gruppen’s IDEEA (IntelliDrive Energy Efficient Amplifier) technology, they are optimized for efficient power consumption and minimal heat generation to ease demands on electrical distribution and cooling systems while reducing operating costs and environmental impact.
Output configurations for the E 40:2 are 2 x 2,000 watts at 2 and 4 ohms with Hi-Z 70/100 volts or 2 x 1,600 watts at 8 ohms, 2 x 800 watts at 16 ohms, and up to 3,500 watts single channel maximum. Output configurations for the E 20:2 are 2 x 1,000 watts at 2, 4 and 8 ohms, as well as Hi-Z 70/100 volts, or 2 x 625 watts at 16 ohms, and up to 2,000 watts single channel maximum. In both models, asymmetric channel loading with power sharing provides more power on one channel and supports mixed impedance loads.
They’re also outfitted with Lab Gruppen’s Rail Sense Limiter (RSL) designed to enhance audio quality by reducing signal clipping and optimizing each output to real-time load conditions. This allows straightforward configuration for constant voltage and low impedance applications. The RSL settings also facilitate asymmetric channel loading, enabling installers to tailor output for diverse setups such as driving a Low-Z subwoofer on one channel and multiple Hi-Z 100-volt ceiling loudspeakers on another.
Both amplifiers have per-channel high-pass filters, fail-safe circuit protection, and rear panel controls for more straightforward installation and commissioning. Auto-standby and auto-power-on capabilities reduce power consumption to less than 1 watt in non-operating cycles.
The new E 40:2 and E 20:2 amplifiers are available now through authorized Lab Gruppen dealers and distributors worldwide.
