John Mezbourian has been involved in church lighting for a number of years and recently he decided to start his own lighting rental company specifically targeting all things ecclesiastical!
“For the past ten years I have done the lighting for Nations Church and that’s where I learnt everything,” he said. “It got to the point where I had so many other churches asking me to help them, I decided to set up Kingdom Productions Perth. We also do installs and have a couple to do next week.”
Having installed twelve Martin RUSH MH3 into a church recently, John knew he would have to have some in his hire company and promptly purchased four of his own.
“I just love how you can go into a static lighting environment, set up a couple of RUSH MH3 and they create such dynamic lighting in the whole venue,” he commented. “They create energy in the room and look amazing. For the price and what you get out of it, the MH3 is very cost effective for the effects. I love their versatility – yes it is a beam but you can also use it as a gobo and we have also used it as a wash.”
For controlling his productions John purchased a Martin M-Touch, a powerful yet simple control surface. Fully compatible with all M-Series consoles and M-PC software, Martin M-Touch is a plug-and-play solution with an innovative control surface like no other lighting console.
“People can’t believe we are controlling everything off this tiny console,” he laughed. “The way we set it up means you don’t have any cables down to the front. It’s a great set up.”
John also decided to add ShowPro GoldenEYE 77 LED fixtures to his inventory after testing them at the Youth Alive Conference. Combining 49 x 3W warm white, individually controllable Cree LEDs with a super tight 6 degree optical system, the GoldenEYE 77 is equally at home as a powerful blinder or dynamic visual display system. The panels can simply and quickly join together to give you a wall of light that comes with all of the features you’ve come to expect from ShowPro.
“We liked them so much, we bought them!” he said. “We’ve got eight of them and they’re great. It’s amazing how they do their own built-in effects and when you incorporate that into your lighting show, it does this great strobe and makes everything look really dynamic. I love that the Goldeneyes are not a blinder that wash out the entire room – they’re all these tiny pixel beams that great such a great environment.”
