Clever Living is a rapidly growing audiovisual company. We are located in recently constructed premises in Carrum Downs, just off Eastlink. We have an opening for a junior audiovisual installation technician. As part of the position, the successful applicant will have access to a fully fitted van for use on projects.
Clever Living provides audiovisual design, installation and equipment control for the commercial and high-end residential markets. Our projects comprise approximately 65% residential and 35% Commercial.
We are currently seeking an audiovisual technician who is looking for long term employment and an opportunity to grow with the company. Candidates who have an electrical background with practical hands-on experience would be highly suited to the position.
Residential
Our residential audiovisual services include dedicated and fully integrated home theatre solutions, whole-house audiovisual installations, home automation and environmental control such as Dynalite lighting, blinds and access control. We also provide security and CCTV design and installation, data and MATV and intercom systems. We have clients throughout Melbourne and surrounding suburbs, the Mornington Peninsula as well as regional Victoria.
Commercial
Our Commercial audiovisual services include audiovisual consultation, design and installation of boardrooms, training rooms, lecture theatres, meeting rooms, auditoriums and restaurants. Our services range from simple audio and display fit-outs to large venue video conferencing, digital signage, data and telecommunications. We have clients from financial and legal institutions, educational facilities, manufacturing and government organisations.
Key Responsibilities
- ELV control and signal cable rough-in
- Installation of audiovisual equipment such as projectors, screens, speakers, brackets and control system equipment
- Equipment rack wiring and fit off
- Wiring and installation of audiovisual connection plates, patch bays and other consumer and professional audio visual equipment
- Installation and programming of security equipment, (we use predominantly Concept and Ness products)
- Installation of phone systems, intercoms, data and MATV
- Checking installed equipment
- Completing job reports (using an iPad)
- Reporting on installation tasks (using an iPad)
- Liaising with other Clever Living staff as required
- Work as a team member to ensure projects are completed as specified and on time
Skills and Requirements
- At least 1 year of experience in electrical and/or audiovisual installation
- Qualifications and certificates such as an engineering degree or diploma, technical, electrical, electronic courses, cable installer registration, elevated work platform, Work safe construction induction etc. (desirable but not essential)
- Must have experience, knowledge and skills working with power tools
- Able to read and interpret technical drawings (desirable but not essential)
- High-level work ethic
- Must have an eye for detail
- Able to liaise with clients and co-workers efficiently and professionally
- Must be punctual at all times
- Able to work as part of a team or unsupervised
- High level of motivation and commitment to work undertaken
- Current manual driver’s license
