JPJ Audio supplied audio and comms for the Sydney Super Fight held last Wednesday night at Sydney’s Bank West Stadium. Despite the challenges of a very wet week, it was great to be back in a stadium installing a large L-Acoustics PA.
JPJ installed eight hangs of L-Acoustics K2 and six hangs of Kara to take care of the onfield audio, all driven on Lake LM44s and interfacing into the house system for coverage around the stadium. The event was mixed on a Yamaha CL5 to take advantage of the Dante Interfacing using Rio 32/24 D2s and Focusrite RN8x8s for the I/O requirements around the venue. These events are very different from the standard arena show and the ability to jump onto the house fibre patch and get the required I/O where needed around the stadium is a huge advantage.
Suppling RF mics and IFBs for the onfield MCs and broadcast hosts, JPJ used Shure Axient Digital and Shure PSM 1000s.
JPJ installed an Artist Comms system with a large amount of Bolero for all the field communications required for this type of event interfacing into the broadcast trucks making communications effortless between broadcast and the live event. Using our Luminex and Net gear switch inventory, JPJ supplied an event network for JPJ and other suppliers to use to get signals around the venue. JPJ also supplied radios for the event using our friends at D2N for the Hytera Radios and Repeaters interfacing them into the comms system.
It was always going to rain for one of the first stadium events in Sydney but it was great to be part of this event and we look forward to more like it in 2021.
