When Martin launched the RUSH cost-effective line of effect lights a whole new market could suddenly afford to acquire Martin reliability and quality. The installation market has particularly benefited from this inexpensive and powerful line of effect lights.
One such venue that found it could suddenly afford a punchy light show was Melbourne’s Nunawading Basketball Stadium. They wanted a light show for the home games played by their team Nunawading Spectres in the SEABL games, which is the top league under the NBL.
John Panetta of Pan & Tilt Lighting Entertainment Services was asked to design and supply lighting for pre-match entertainment, player introductions and the like, to complement their sound system.
“I offered them a Martin RUSH MH1 package which included four RUSH MH1 profiles, a smoke machine and a Martin Duo USB DMX box,” commented John. “The reason I went for this was for the ease of maintenance. As the RUSH MH1 are LED, I didn’t have to worry about lamp replacements and heat. The RUSH MH1’s are very bright and they have a great set of gobos. They can really get some great effects out of their four RUSH MH1 fixtures.”
The RUSH MH1 is able to provide such amazing effects due to its efficient optics, two gobo wheels and two colour wheels. For added versatility and effect, it also houses an electronic dimmer and strobe, iris and 3-facet prism.
“Further, with the help of Paul Nicolaou from Show Technology’s Melbourne office, we set up the control via an all-in-one touchscreen PC running M-PC, Martin’s Windows-compatible version of the M-Series console, “ added John. “The client simply turns on the computer and when it has booted up, they use the touchscreen to trigger my pre-programmed looks or chases. If they require any lighting changes I can simply go there and re-record some looks straight off the PC.”
