Mackay’s Kennedy Amplifier Hire Service has added eight Martin RUSH MH4 compact beam moving head fixtures to their hire department. The RUSH MH4 blasts an intense and narrow beam for spectacular mid-air looks and effects. It houses a fixed gobo wheel and colour wheel with a multitude of effects possible from a dimmer and strobe, 6-facet prism and focus.
“The Martin RUSH MH4 really delivers bang for buck,” commented Dale Kennedy, managing director of Kennedy Amplifier Hire Service. “They were cheaper than similar beam fixtures on the market and deliver a good solid beam.”
LXD Lighting Design, one of Dale’s clients, has hired the RUSH MH4 beams for a couple of gigs including the recent Full Moon Party held on Magnetic Island by the Base Group.
“The RUSH MH4 beams add another dimension to the other moving lights supplied to us by Kennedy Amplifier,” explained Ben Madden who runs LXD along with Dave Gibson. “We’d been looking for a different angle to our light shows and the RUSH MH4’s are a brilliant, different avenue to go down! Plus they are a lot cheaper to hire than the competitor’s equivalent.”
Ben admits that the set up for the Full Moon Party was fairly basic but the effects from the RUSH MH4 were fantastic.
“I love the speed of the RUSH MH4, they are very quick,” he added. “I love the prism in them as well; beams for me can be very two-dimensional but the prism effect in the RUSH MH4 really varies your light show.”
Ben reports that budget was tight for the Full Moon Party and that he scrapped using a competitors wash fixtures due to their hire cost.
“The RUSH MH4 beams cost a lot less to hire so we scrapped using any other fixtures and just used eight RUSH MH4 beams,” he said. “So to have the prism effect to vary the look a bit was fantastic.”
