Towards the end of 2013, the Ipswich Civic Centre purchased a MA onPC command wing and a MA onPC fader wing to add to their existing MA console stock.
Even though most of the productions handled at the Centre are in-house with grandMA1 and grandMA2 consoles, it became necessary to purchase a portable lighting control system to handle the smaller events throughout the venue here as well as some external events, without creating unnecessary wear and tear on transporting the larger consoles.
“The MA onPC command and fader wings have been a great addition to the infrastructure here at the Ipswich Civic Centre,” remarked David Finn, technical manager at the Centre. “The portability of the wings while retaining the strength of the MA software has been a huge asset to us.”
The MA onPC command wing paves the way for mobile use of the highly flexible and powerful grandMA2 control system. This portable solution offers realtime control for 2,048 parameters in combination with grandMA2 onPC. Designed as the perfect hardware expansion to the grandMA2 onPC software, onPC command wing enables the look and feel of the software to be as close as possible to a real grandMA2 console.
“We’ve discovered that the MA onPC command wing offers reliability, backup and flexibility plus it is not too expensive,” added David. “Obviously our tech crew are familiar with the MA control surface but even if they weren’t, it’s simple to learn.”
The MA onPC fader wing completes the mobile range of onPC products, with a mobile control solution that supplies real faders and executors in connection with the free-of-charge software.
