We are very proud to announce that Professor Keith Still’s world-renowned 3-day course “Introduction to Crowd Science” will be delivered in Australia by the Event Safety Institute (ESI). This course has been delivered by Prof. Still for more than a decade and has Level 5 accreditation from Highfield and the IIRSM. The course, under the supervision of Professor Keith Still, will be delivered by experienced safety professional and trainer Roderick van Gelder.
The course is recommended for anyone involved in the design, planning or management of crowded places such as public events, sports gatherings and festivals. The course is also highly beneficial for approval bodies such as local government, police commanders or first responders.
Content
The course will take the delegates from understanding crowd safety and risk analysis for crowded places to working through the principles of major accident and incident prevention. The aim of the course is to develop a greater understanding of crowded places and how individuals react and behave under different circumstances. During the course, Roderick will work with you through site planning, events reviews, venue lay-out and case studies. He will demonstrate the principles and applications of crowd safety and risk analysis such as how and when a crowd reaches critical mass, how the effects of design and information influence crowd behaviour, and how crowd management systems can be tailored to suit the application. These are the vital concepts to understanding risk analysis and crowd safety for crowded places and mass gatherings.
