Lighting Internship as a Venue Technician for Live Performances

Century Venues is offering an exciting opportunity for a passionate and hard working emerging Lighting Technician to join our technical team. The Century Group is a live entertainment producer, festival presenter and the operator of a suite of venues that includes the Enmore Theatre, Metro Theatre, the Factory Theatre complex, the Sydney Comedy Store and The Concourse Performing Arts Centre Chatswood.
This role is ideal for someone at the early stages of their career who is eager to gain serious hands on experience inside some of Sydney’s leading professional performing arts venues.
This is a paid internship and casual entry position where you will gain extensive real world experience working on concerts, theatre, comedy, festivals and touring productions. You will not just be working shows. You will become part of our team and be mentored by highly experienced industry professionals.
As a Lighting Intern you will assist with lighting setup, programming and console operation across a wide range of professional productions. You will work closely with directors, production managers and senior technicians while developing your technical skills in a real venue environment.

Essential requirements
- A strong interest in lighting and live performance
- Strong a ability to work under pressure in high paced environments
- No problem working weekends and nights as this is when most shows take place
- Basic understanding of stage lighting equipment and systems
- Willingness to learn, take direction and work as part of a team
- Positive attitude, reliability and strong work ethic
- Complete commitment to our venues and show schedules
Highly Regarded but Not Required
- Any experience with MA or ETC Eos lighting consoles
- Any live event or theatre experience
- Technical or production study background

Starting salary: $55,000 – 65,000 annually plus 12% Super Contributions
