About the Role
With a number of medium to large projects in the pipeline, we are looking for an experienced Installation Technician to join our Sydney based operations team. The Installation Technician will be responsible for performing the installation and commissioning of the staging equipment for JVE projects, this includes installation of orchestra lifts, counterweight/motorised systems, curtains/curtain tracks and general rigging in cinemas, theatres, schools for new construction, upgrade and refurbishment projects. The type of works will vary from project to project, however duties would typically include:
Installation, testing, documenting and commissioning of stage machinery equipment and associated infrastructure including but not limited to the installation of the mechanical components.
Reviewing design documentation onsite and determining any issues with respect to installation and performance of the equipment.
Interpret technical and design information and ensure works are installed in accordance to the design.
Conduct and document maintenance inspections of staging equipment at various sites and develop inspection reports.
Ensure efficient delivery of the works within the agreed timeframes and cost budgets.
To be considered for this position you must meet the criteria listed below:
A trade qualification in rigging, mechanical fitting and/or controls commissioning is preferred.
Experience in working in a construction theatre venues and entertainment industry is preferred.
Electrical license is preferred.
Hold a General Construction Induction Card.
Current and valid Driver’s Licence (C Class Minimum).
Demonstrated capacity to assess a scope of works through construction plans, drawings and specifications.
Pride of workmanship with attention to detail, quality and accuracy.
Ability to liaise professionally with clients and staff at all levels.
Hold a valid Rigging licence (intermediate to advanced) and High Risk Work license.
It would be an advantage to possess a working knowledge of mechanical and electrical controls and systems relevant to the theatrical and staging industry.
If you have worked as a leading hand / trade worker in the construction industry, entertainment industry, theatre technician, lift installer or mechanic you may have the experience we are looking for.
Applicants should note that some work will be required to be carried out outside of normal working hours and inter/intrastate and New Zealand travel may be required on an intermittent basis.
