Resolution X has had a long association with Melbourne fashion events and this month’s Spring Fashion week was no exception. The Fashion week centred on the Melbourne Town Hall which was transformed from its usual function/music/comedy venue into a catwalk which appeared to go on forever, designed by Arts Events Management Australasia.
Resolution X provided lighting, rigging, design and crew for the event and the outstanding results speak for themselves. The catwalk was lit by over one hundred static profiles all precisely focused to make the catwalk appear as if it were floating in the darkened space. Andrew Arney who designed the rig used only a smattering of Mac 700 Profiles to create textures on the catwalk. Lighting operation was masterfully handled by Tim Newman running a full size Grand MA. Rigging for the show utilised over 70m of 500mm stacking truss and a further 60m of 300mm Tri Truss.
This event demonstrates the fact that you don’t need all the latest toys to create a great looking show just a solid grounding in lighting know-how and a good idea.
