ICC Sydney welcomed 25 Certificate III in Live Production students from five schools, along with their career advisors, for an exclusive behind-the-scenes tour of their world-class Audio Visual facilities.
Led by Senior AV Technical Manager, Jack Crozier, and supported by Brian Nash, Matthew Sanders, Luke Duncan, Johanna Rivera, and AV Graduate Emma Hoskins, students gained insights into the industry, explored innovative technology solutions, and heard firsthand about career journeys in AV.
At ICC Sydney, they’re passionate about fostering careers, not just jobs. Initiatives like these, alongside their AV Graduate Program and Professional Growth Traineeship, give emerging event and AV professionals the skills and confidence to thrive in a dynamic industry.
Feedback from students and teachers was overwhelmingly positive:
100% overall satisfaction
100% felt the program helped with career decisions
60% increase in awareness of industry opportunities
80% increase in understanding of required skills
ICC was proud to receive this feedback from Lee Johnston, Senior Project Officer for Regional Industry Education Partnerships at the Department of Education:
“Thank you so much for the care, energy and generosity shown to the students – I could tell they were grateful for every moment, and the teachers were very vocal about how brilliant the day was.It was especially evident that there’s a warm and supportive culture at ICC Sydney, which would have been very appealing to the students.”

As well as some great feedback from a student attending the tour:
“Hearing how all the presenters got their jobs, the skills they use, and the expectations of their roles was really helpful in understanding my place in the industry and the types of jobs I want to pursue. This was an incredible program, and I think every Cert III LPTS student should have access to it.”
