HotHouse Theatre offers a 2 year full-time technical traineeship for a person who has a basic understanding of, and strong interest in theatre (particularly technical operations). It is a position for someone who is prepared to work flexible hours, is hard working and keen to learn.
The traineeship includes training in design and operation in sound, lighting, props and sets, as well as venue and equipment maintenance. This training leads to accreditation via TAFE in units from the Entertainment Training Package, and is delivered and assessed on the job.
In the first year, the trainee works towards Certificate III in Live Production & Services (Course Code CUA30413) In order to complete the qualification, the trainee must be assessed as competent in 6 core modules and 9 elective modules.
The overall structure, delivery and assessment of training is flexible and holistic and is built around HotHouse Theatre’s schedule of productions. Selection of modules and timing of assessment is determined in consultation between HotHouse Theatre, TAFE and the trainee.
They will have to be based or relocate to Albury Wodonga and have access to their own transport.
