When The Hills Grammar School in Dural were looking to upgrade their R.J. Phipps Performance Centre and Blue Box Theatre, they called upon HF Event Services and Show Technology for their expert advice and assistance.
Consequently both spaces were kitted out with Martin RUSH MH6 LED moving wash lights, ShowPro Quad-12 LED PARs and MA Lighting dot2 core consoles. The larger venue, the R.J. Phipps Performance Centre, also acquired a couple of Claypaky Axcor Spot 300.
“The Martin RUSH MH6 is a very reliable, punchy and cost effective moving light,” said Colin Baldwin, managing director of HF Event Services. “It’s also compact and for this application they will be able to get a lot of use out of it, not only general colour saturation and coverage, but movement and beam work. I think it’s a great product for schools and medium size venues.”
More LED technology was introduced with the ShowPro Quad-12 LED PARs and although the School still has a small amount of analogue lighting, it will be replaced with even more LED in the near future.
“Again the ShowPro Quad-12 LED PARs are also great value for money and very punchy,” added Colin. “They’re very reliable and I think Show Technology must have sold thousands of them!”
Show Technology’s Gareth Mealing introduced the Claypaky Axcor Spot 300s to the mix as a cost effective, high performance LED moving head Profile for gobo projection and Colin was clearly very impressed by the fixture.
“The first time I had a play with them I was amazed by their brightness, linear zoom and they really are a neat little package,” he commented.
Colin was amazed by the MA dot2 core console saying it was a delight to learn and work with.
“Whilst my team were up in the scissor lift rigging lights, I started to play with the console and within 20 minutes found myself navigating my way around it,” he said. “Sooo easy!”
Show Technology’s Gareth Mealing will be training the teachers and students on the MA dot2
