Hog 4 OS consoles require a full install in order to be downgraded from v2.4.0 to any previous software version. If you use only the FPSPKG to downgrade the console from v2.4.0 to any previous software version this will result in a failure of the front panel, DMX output and other hardware devices.
Show File Compatibility
Show files created with (or saved using) Hog 4 OS v2.4.0 are not backwards compatible with Hog 4 OS v1.2.1 or older or with any version of Hog 3 OS. However, older pre-existing Hog 4 OS and Hog 3 OS show files are forward compatible with Hog 4 OS v2.3.0.
New Features
Custom Preview Names and Images
Users can now define custom names and images for previews in the media picker. See section 10.5 of the v2.4.0 Hog 4 OS help manual for complete instructions.
Improved Error Handling and Task Progress Reporting for CITP Thumbnail Syncronization
Users can more accurately see the status/progress of CITP preview syncing for any given fixture by selecting the fixture and checking the package status icon in the top right hand corner of the media picker window. Clicking on the status icon will also open a new “media status” window which shows all running, cued, and completed sync tasks. Click on any task in the list to view details about that task.
Preview Images on the Slot Toolbar and in Direct Entry Menus
Preview images now appear next to preview names on the slot toolbar (also in direct entry menus).
OSC Output Added for Command Line, Encoder Wheel Labels & Encoder Wheel Values
The Hog 4 OS now outputs OSC messages in the form of text string for the command line, encoder wheel labels, and encoder wheels. See section 21.4 of the v2.4.0 Hog 4 OS help manual for details.
