We are seeking to appoint an outstanding person to this very important position in our Performing Arts Centre team, where there is plenty of opportunity to apply skills and experience to a wide variety of technical work.
The Head Theatre Technician works within our Performing Arts Centre team to produce high quality presentations within our George Wood Performing Arts Centre and related venues.
In particular, the successful applicant will be responsible for the following areas:
- Technical leadership for internal and external events
- Supervising and scheduling casually employed technicians
- Set up and pack up of technical equipment
- The operation of technical equipment for performances and presentations
- Recording, editing and streaming of video, audio and lighting projects
- General equipment maintenance along with adherence to ‘back to standard’ procedures
Previous industry experience is preferred and preference will be given to those who have worked within an independent school setting.
The role is full time and includes evening and weekend work. Excellent presentation, communication and interpersonal skills are required along with the ability to demonstrate initiative and to prioritise tasks.
A salary commensurate with experience will be offered. The successful applicant must have a current Working with Children Check and be fully vaccinated against COVID-19.
