Head of Sound – Civic Theatre

We are seeking an enthusiastic and highly skilled individual with a passion for safely and efficiently delivering high quality, professional technical and production support to a wide variety of commercial and community user groups and customers of the Civic Theatre.

  • Permanent, part-time position available.
  • Remuneration package of $1,525.28 gross per fortnight with the opportunity to progress to $1,830.33 gross per fortnight + superannuation based on part-time hours of work.
  • This position is based on twenty-five (25) hours per week with weekend and evening work.
  • Ongoing training and development opportunities.

Your new role:

The Head of Sound will work closely with the Technical Coordinator to deliver high quality sound production for all Wagga Wagga Civic Theatre performances. You will also work as a Duty Technician and in all aspects of technical theatre.

Key responsibilities of the role include but are not limited to:

  • Act as a Technician for shows including audio, lighting, audio visual, projection and staging;
  • Coordinate the planning, delivery, set-up and operation of production equipment;
  • Provide technical expertise, production and operational information and advice to hirers; and
  • Assist in the development and delivery of theatre maintenance plan.

What you will need to succeed:

  • Demonstrated experience relevant to the role including knowledge and understanding of stagecraft including audio, lighting, audio visual, projection and staging as required.
  • Minimum Certificate IV in Theatre or Live Performance or equivalent practical experience.
  • Skills in administration, effective verbal and written communication skills and knowledge of WH&S requirements for event planning and delivery.
