Head of Lighting

Crossroads Live is one of the world’s leading producers of live, large-scale theatrical entertainment. The Australian operation is seeking an exceptional Head of Lighting to join it’s production of Rocky Horror Show.

The successful applicant will be joining the national tour from May.

About the role

The role will help execute the lighting design and running of the production. This role will report to and be guided by the production manager.


As the Head of Lighting, your duties shall include but are not be limited to:

  • Managing all technical aspects of the production in collaboration with the Stage Manager;
  • In consultation with the Production Manager, organise and supervise LX prep, bump in, bump out and transfer of all lighting elements of the Production;
  • Developing and maintaining show plot sheets regularly;
  • Technical maintenance as required;
  • Maintain the technical standard of the show as set by the Production Manager, Creative Team and Producers;
  • Assist in maintaining the physical and artistic elements of the Production by reporting issues as they present themselves
  • Organise and manage the safe and accurate installation of all set electrics for the Production; 
  • In collaboration with the Production Manager, create and manage schedules for the LX department; 
  • Manage and schedule the LX team. 
  • Assist in maintaining the physical and artistic elements of the Production by reporting issues as they present themselves.
  • Other reasonable duties as advised by the Production Manager, Company Manager or the Producers.
  • Collaborate with all members of the Creative Team.
  • Maintain during the Tour, the artistic standards of the Production, as set by the Creative team during the Rehearsal Period.
  • Liaise when requested, with administrative, marketing and other team members to assist in the marketing and promotion of the Production.

In this role you the following attributes are desirable;

  • Touring experience 
  • Knowledge of MA console 
  • Test & tag licence 
  • Confident working within the wider team and autonomously.
  • Have an understanding of WHS practices.

Under Crossroads Live work safe policy, all staff must have 3 doses of the COVID-19 Vaccination prior to their commencement unless a valid exemption applies.
