When Harry the hirer Productions recently went looking to extend its moving light inventory, a powerful LED moving head profile fixture with a framing feature was high on the list of fittings they deemed necessary. After spending considerable time researching the narrow market segment, there was one fixture that stood out with these offerings, the Maverick MK2 Profile from CHAUVET Professional. After receiving a demo from Showtools International of the MK2 fixture, General Manager Simon Finlayson was impressed and decided to acquire 24 of the MK2 Profiles from Showtools for the company’s lighting inventory.
The feature that stood out for the Harry’s Production team was the output of the fixture coupled with its framing shutter module, “The Maverick MK2 Profile really surprised us when we tested it for the first time. The Profile is a Fully featured >90 CRI 440 W LED yoke fixture that includes CMY+CTO colour mixing, a colour wheel and two rotating gobo wheels. The brightness of the fixture was comparable with the highest output fixtures in the market along with its wide pallet of colours. They also have a remarkable color correction, so they blend nicely with other fixtures.”
Simon also commented on the other standout features, “The fixture comes with a four-blade framing shutter system with rotation and two gobo wheels. The stock gobos in the fixtures go a long way to enable us to create different looks depending on the event. We can basically dial in the perfect zoom, edge, and shutters on a given gobo. Other focus points help define and create ambience.”
“Basically, the fixtures can do anything from a fixed placement,” says Simon. “We can point any colour, gobo, and size of beam anywhere in a room, plus use the shutters to control it like a standard ellipsoidal. The Maverick MK2 Profile also provides great dimming and zoom options, “The fixtures are equipped with a 16-bit dimming of master dimmer for smooth control of fades, 13° to 37° zoom angle for variable beam sizes, iris, 3-facet prism, and frost for beam control,” stated Simon.
With the addition of the Maverick MK2 Profiles, Harry the hirer Productions has extended its range of moving head fixtures in their lighting inventory that will enable them to provide a broad offering for an LD working on any size event.
