Green Hippo‘s Hippotizer Effect Editor is built on the 4.9 Hippotizer Engine and designed to let users create and customize their own effects and generators. In a statement, the company says. “Want to tweak a parameter in your favorite ripple effect? Create your own CMY colour mixing? Or turn your IMAG into a cartoon sketchbook? With the Effect Editor, all this, and more, is now possible.”
Prior knowledge of C#, HLSL, and rendering is highly recommended. However, users are welcome to open and modify any of the 160 existing effects to explore how they work and learn through real-time feedback and logging.
The product’s features include a render window to see effects in real time without needing to run a Hippotizer engine; the ability to upload custom textures; the option of writing one’s own HLSL PixelShaders; real-time parameter; customizable parameter limits; multiple render pass capabilities; blur passes setup for quick use with any effects; and one tool to edit effects or generators.
