Perth’s AV Partners, based at the Perth Convention and Exhibition Centre, have purchased a MA Lighting grandMA2 light console for their busy department.
The grandMA2 light has 4,096 parameters, 15 motorized executor faders and two touchscreens available. All further features and controls are identical to those on the grandMA2 full-size.
The console is chiefly used by AV Partners’ main lighting person Mat Brooke who was unfamiliar with MA consoles when he took up his position with the company.
“I’ve been learning the MA1 and MA2 consoles at the same time which has been quite helpful as I can really understand their main differences,” he commented. “I love the effects engine on the MA2, which I find a lot more intuitive than with the MA1, as it gives you a much clearer understanding of what the effect is actually doing.
“It’s just a nice console to use; nice big screens and plenty of room to lay things out. It’s a good physical hardware console to use.”
The grandMA2 light at PCEC has been used mainly for corporate events and Mat has discovered it to be the ideal tool to control all kinds of lighting including conventionals, moving lights, and LEDs, whilst supplying intuitive and fast control of all connected fixtures and channels.
