ENTECH founder Julius Grafton has acquired Sydney PA Hire, a rental firm specialising in Community and Corporate events. Established in 2010, the firm consistently leads Google searches, boasting hundreds of five-star reviews. It is well-regarded for wide-placed outdoor battery and wireless systems at fun runs and charity events. It also handles a significant number of corporate hires in the Sydney CBD.
“I live 10 minutes from the centre of Sydney, and I have been contracting to SPAH as an audio tech since Covid,” Julius told ALIA. “I am continually impressed with their prep and packaging, and when co-founder David Carter told me he would retire, I did a redux of the famous line ‘I liked it so much, I bought the company’, which was used by Victor Kiam in Remington shaver commercials to promote their products. David and Lee Wright have worked hard and built a beautiful business. I’m honoured to take over!”
Grafton plans to keep things real, he says, and not go looking at eating anyone’s lunch. “It’s a hotly contested space; a dozen firms online will hire you gear in Sydney, and ten big AV firms will do big work. This is my passion work: no cover bands murdering ‘Oz Rawk Classics’, just decent little jobs where everyone is happy!”
