We’re currently searching for a skilled and highly motivated Gallery & Theatre Technician to join our organisation in a casual capacity.

Position objectives
The Gallery & Theatre Technician will be responsible for:
- The position will be a part of the Technical Services Team and focus predominately on the day-to-day technical operations at the Mildura Arts Centre Theatre, Gallery and Rio Vista Historic House, and other occasional venues as required including:
- assisting with delivery of Technical Services – Theatre Lighting and Sound and Production.
- exhibition installation and deinstallation
- handling artwork to museum and gallery standards
- assisting with equipment maintenance in the gallery and theatre
Qualifications and experience
Ideally the successful applicant will have the following:
- Demonstrated knowledge and/or experience in the installation and de-installation of exhibitions to gallery and/or museum standards and practices including object care and handling, packing and movement of artworks, appropriate display techniques and conservation principles is preferred.
- Demonstrated practical experience in construction, fabrication and painting of exhibition assets, and appropriate work methods for utilizing necessary power tools.
- Experience in installation and operation of audio-visual equipment and lighting and sound systems.
- Demonstrated experience with theatre lighting, theatre rigging, theatre staging practices and theatre fly systems.
- Current satisfactory police check or be willing to obtain.
- Hold a current Working with Children’s Check or be willing to obtain.
- Current Driver’s Licence.
Salary and conditions
The position is classified within Band 4 of Council’s Current Enterprise Agreement commencing at $40.7493 per hour (inclusive of casual loading) plus statutory superannuation.
