When Jared Hawke, managing director of Frontier Lighting, first laid his eyes on the Claypaky Axcor Beam 300 at LDI last year it was love at first sight.
It wasn’t just the compact body that caught his eye, he also noticed the amazing price-point and promptly purchased twenty-four units! Eight of the Axcor Beam 300 are now installed into The Metropolis Club in Fremantle whilst the remainder went into Frontier’s hire stock.
“It’s a great product with the famous Claypaky build,” commented Jared. “It’s very well made, especially compared to some of the other products on the market. You can’t beat the quality of their effects, their construction, and their high light output. We’ve had no complaints or issues with them.”
In fact Jared is constantly amazed by the solid beam of light that the Axcor Beam 300 can produce with a beam angle as small as 2° and a surprising light output.
Driven by a white LED engine with a rated power of up to 180 Watts, the Axcor Beam 300 is the perfect replacement of a Claypaky Sharpy with the LED source eliminating hotspots.
“Of course there are no lamp replacements which is the best thing,” added Jared. “They also have some great colours and aerial effects.
“They’ve caused a lot of interest in our hire department and I believe a couple of other Perth companies are now buying some. That always happens, as soon as we buy something others follow knowing they can get extra numbers from us if needed.”
Jared is keen to mention Show Technology’s Mike Gearin saying his help was invaluable and much appreciated.
