A live broadcast of an “Introduction to RDMnet” is being presented by the ESTA Control Protocols Plugfest organizers Sunday, July 21 from 7:00 p.m. to 8:30 P.M., CDT. It’s free for both ESTA members and non-members.
RDMnet (officially E1.33, Entertainment Technology – Message Transport and Management for RDM-compatible and similar devices over IP Networks) was recently approved as a consensus standard and will soon be approved by the American National Standards Institute (ANSI) later this summer. RDMnet is a new protocol that extends the functionality of RDM to Ethernet networks. Draft standard testing began in the summer of 2018, and new products with RDMnet features are expected begin to appear later this year.
The webinar will illustrate the challenges solved by RDMnet and explain how it works from both a user perspective and within the protocol itself. Register for the event by sending an email to plugfest@esta.org. Instructions for logging in will be emailed to all pre-registered attendees a few days before the live broadcast. Qualified attendees may also receive 0.5 ETCP renewal credit for each session hour.
