Soundcraft has released a new v3.3 firmware update for its Ui24R 24-channel digital console/ USB multi-track recorder with wireless control. The Ui24R delivers flexible I/O, intuitive wireless control and roadworthy reliability—all in a streamlined design. The system can double as a stagebox and can be controlled by up to 10 devices via Ethernet or built-in dual-band Wi-Fi, making it possible to control mixing and multi-track recording wirelessly from anywhere in the venue and features renowned Harman signal processing, Studer-designed preamps and much more. Retail is $1,099.
The earlier v3.0 firmware added a Cascading feature to double the input capacity; Cue Recall for saving mix settings as Cues and seamlessly recalling them; a UDP Control Recall for triggering lighting control snapshots; Lexicon Reverb PreDelay to set times before first surface reflections and simulate desired acoustic environments; and more than 25 new supported touch screens.
The V3.3 update enhances web server stability; and includes improvements to WiFi frequency and clocking stability, including clocking during Cascade operations. The v3.3 firmware is a free download.
