Following on from the success of the Handa Opera on Sydney Harbour seasons, in October 2016 Opera Australia will present another ambitious large-scale outdoor opera project, staging a brand new production of the contemporary Australian Opera The Eighth Wonder, which tells the story of the creation of the Sydney Opera House. This will be the first time an opera has been staged on the 100 metre wide steps; with audiences filling the forecourt and the iconic Sydney wonder becoming the backdrop to this critical Australian tale.
