Event / Theatre Technicians

There has never been a better time to join The Star Gold Coast team within our Entertainment Services Department.

We are currently accepting applications for various positions within our Entertainment Services Department, in these roles you will deliver the Lighting, AV or Mechanist services to the Theatre and Event space.

As a Lighting Technician, you will deliver specific lighting services to the theatre and event space including the provision of lighting design, programming, effects, follow spot operation, platform lighting and theatrical lighting.

To be successful, you will demonstrate your capabilities in your chosen field:

  • Previous maintenance experience together with an ability to fault find with an eye for detail
  • Skills to make changes to the lighting design and programming of the show
  • Knowledge of and ability to operate and program lighting equipment in a corporate and live event or concert environment
  • You will have the strong ability to work from production drawings, prints or plans and have skills in operating, maintaining, setting up and adjusting all lighting production equipment

As a Mechanist, you will deliver specific staging services to the theatre including the provision of rigging and working with a double purchase counterweight system, Intermediate or Advanced Rigging Certificate is an advantage.

To be successful, you will demonstrate your capabilities in your chosen field:

  • Operating equipment for either theatre productions, concerts and corporate events
  • Carrying out maintenance checks
  • Assisting with the bump-in and bump-out of equipment for theatre productions, concerts and corporate events including loading and unloading of trucks as directed
  • Flexible to work between departments including Theatre, Ballroom, Stage & Corporate events across lighting, visual and audio
  • Previous maintenance experience together with an ability to fault find with an eye for detail
  • Ability to work in a close team environment with strong attention to detail and the ability to work under pressure
