ETC Source Four Mini’s Never Get A Break With Showtime Productions

#THEARTHUNTER was an “offline” temporary art gallery experience from iconic website The Cool Hunter, created and produced by The Artistry.

#THEARTHUNTER was a collaboration with Jaguar to launch the brand’s first AWD concept car, the stunning C-X17. The space was ‘found’, designed and the creative concept executed, complete with delicate artworks, in less than three weeks.

ETC Source Four Mini Gallery Lighting for The Art HunterShowtime Productions were called upon to design and install the gallery lighting, deciding to purchase thirty-six ETC Source Four Mini fixtures for the project. These deliver everything you expect from the Source Four® brand – ease of use, superior optics, crystal-clear image projection and a bright, even field – but packaged in a tiny fixture that’s just one-third the size of a traditional Source Four. A mere 23cm long, and available in both tungsten and LED, the Source Four Mini can go anywhere: museums, retail stores, restaurants, children’s theatres, and other small scale installations where size matters.

“Aesthetically, the client wanted everything to look very neat and minimize anything that could be obstructive,” commented Arian Yeganeh, production manager at Showtime. “It’s a compact fixture that’s bright enough for this type of application. For a 50 watt fixture, they’re pretty amazing. We also had twenty ETC Source Four Jnr Zooms for the larger installs such as the concept car.

“It was a very successful job, not only for us but for the client.”

Since this project Arian reports that he has used their Source Four Mini fixtures on three consecutive shows as they are so versatile.

“They’re like a normal down light but with far superior optics and framing so that you can cut out whatever you need to cut out,” he added. “In fact, ever since we got our Source Four Mini fixtures they haven’t been back to the warehouse, going from job to job.”

The ETC Source Four Mini is available in four field angles: 19°, 26°, 36° and 50°, with a 63.5mm diameter lens. It comes in a portable version, a canopy- ceiling-mount design with an integral transformer, or a 3-circuit track-mount design. There is also a low-voltage (12V) tungsten version. All Source Four Mini models include an E-sized gobo pattern holder and a gel media frame, with a range of additional accessories.
