We are currently inviting applicants to express their interest in joining our pool of casual technical crew at Queensland Theatre Company.
The positions that are sought to be filled on a casual basis are:
Mechanist
Lighting Technician
Sound Technician
AV technician
Conditions
Hours of rostered work vary but often include evening and weekend shifts.
Casual crew are employed as a Live Performance Employee– as per the Live Performance Award 2010 (level dependent on skill and the tasks required).
Frequency of shifts offered will vary according to technical requirements of our productions throughout the year.

Good personal presentation, punctuality and reliability

Essential Criteria
Demonstrated experience working in a technical role in a theatre environment.
Formal training in technical theatre or relevant trade certificate or diploma.
Broad knowledge and experience of stagecraft and theatrical production processes.
Extensive practical experience in installation, operation and maintenance of theatrical equipment: including Sound, Lighting, Staging, AV – with demonstrated practical expertise in at least one of those areas.
Ability to interpret a theatrical plans and drawings
Understanding and adherence to Occupational Health and Safety regulations and practices.
All positions require experience in their related field and a basic knowledge of the equipment used in this position. Applicants are asked to clearly specify which position/s they are applying for in their application.
