The return of ENTECH in four weeks features an A to Z of major distributors, showing most major brands of sound, lighting, vision, comms and staging products. Audio Logic and CC’s Light and Sound joined this week for the Melbourne show, while VFM Group will appear in Brisbane.
“It’s the first time we’ve sold individual states”, says event manager Kate McKenzie. “It’s a consequence of selling out every square metre at Concourse in Sydney and filling two 48’ trucks so the touring component was sold out but we still have room in Brisbane and Melbourne”.
A change for the almost 30-year-old event this year is the demise of the PA shootout, but the audio exhibitors and trade now have an opportunity to hear systems properly at the happy hour, with a formalised version of the previous audio ’shout-out’. This year each audio company has three minutes to ‘play out’ a system, on a timetable.
“We have spent the horrible, gut-wrenching and boring years of lockdowns workshopping and improving ENTECH,” Kate says. “You can bet your arse we are back in style!”
