Earthworks Audio has announced the introduction of the SR5117, a new wireless capsule for all Sennheiser wireless transmitter systems that completes the company’s 117 family, with the Shure SR3117 wireless capsule variant previously released in April.
The new SR5117 is a supercardioid condenser microphone designed to provide fast and clean frequency response. It’s built to be rugged to meet the demands of live sound/touring applications but can also be applied in any relevant situation.
“We have had tremendous success with our new vocal microphone line,” says Mike Dias, VP of sales for Earthworks Audio. “In the few short months since the initial release, this family has quickly become our best-selling line — outpacing all previous wins that we have seen in drums and streaming. The SR117 is fast becoming a new standard in worship and live performances and with the introduction of the Sennheiser capsule, we expect to break even more sales records.
“Earthworks is the sound of now and our new vocal mics are meant to be everyone’s first microphone,” he continues. “We changed the look and feel of YouTube. And now we’re changing what you should expect from live vocals for stage and for worship. These new vocal mics are so easy to work with — so easy to get great sound — they are total game-changers.”
