We are seeking a motivated, enthusiastic Duty Technician to perform and manage operations, maintenance and setup of various audio, lighting, visuals, staging and rigging equipment in the College Performing Arts Centre.
The successful candidate will report to the Venues Manager and will be employed to work casual hours to meet to needs of the Performing Arts Centre.
Skills, Experiences and Attributes:
This role will suit an experienced and capable Duty Technician who can apply their industry experience in theatre and production across a range of shows and events at the College Performing Arts Centre.
To be successful with this role you will bring:
- Industry experience in theatre and production across the three (3) major theatre disciplines of lighting, audio (Including audio-visual) and staging and experience with designing and operating these systems for various types of shows.
- At least three (3) years’ experience as a technical manager or senior technician at a similar size venue.
- Experience in Production Management and/or SX, LX and A/V ops.
- Demonstrated technical knowledge and skills with theatre equipment.
- Ability to use various software such as Q-Lab, Reaper and ProTools would be an advantage.
- Excellent interpersonal and communications skills with the ability to interact with co-workers and clients, often under deadline pressure.
- Highly proficient ICT skills across several platforms; including Microsoft Office applications.
- Willingness to contribute to diverse and inclusive communities and accept the responsibility to uphold the Christian Ethos, including core values of care, dignity & respect
Although not essential, degree or certificate qualifications from NIDA, TAFE or GCIT, Creative Industries, Griffith, WAAPA would be looked at favourably.
