Moonah Arts Centre (MAC) is a regional focus for arts and cultural development in Glenorchy City and across southern Tasmania. Owned and operated by Glenorchy City Council, MAC aims to enrich the local community by providing accessible and affordable arts and cultural experiences. MAC’s new, contemporary, state of the art facility promises to surprise and delight people of all ages.
We are looking for enthusiastic Technicians to be responsible for the delivery of technical advice and assistance and to follow risk management procedures for the Moonah Arts Centre (MAC) and its hirers to support the delivery of its program of activities and events in the absence of the Operations Officer. Typical roles are sound and light operator, stage manager, stage and set builder, duty technician, or AV operator.

The Person: To be successful in this position we are looking for experienced people with 3-4 years’ experience working in an arts based or performance venue. You will need to have proven experience and knowledge of theatrical lighting and sounds systems including audio visual systems, coupled with knowledge of venue and event risk management practices. You will need to be able to work as part of a team and have excellent communication skills to meet our customer expectations.
Qualifications: Certificate III in Live Production or equivalent. We also require you to have a current working with vulnerable persons check, first aid certification, working at heights ticket, white card and yellow card (VL).
Salary: Schedule A, Salary Point 7 (plus 25% casual loading) in accordance with Glenorchy City Council’s Enterprise Agreement 2016
