The Drum Theatre in Dandenong is recruiting casual Theatre Technicians for its program of performances and events. The Drum Theatre is an exciting cultural venue presenting a curated program of theatre events as well as many hires and functions.
This position is primarily located within Drum Theatre as part of a suite of community facilities provided by Council. The role sits within a multi-purpose environment providing theatre, function, meeting and event services. This role is part of a multi-skilled team which provides support for technical and venue operations in the Drum Theatre and, from time to time, at a range of Council’s indoor and outdoor facilities.
The objective of the position is to:
- Provide excellent technical and customer services for performances, functions and events at Drum Theatre
- Assist clients to achieve optimum satisfaction levels for their performance and the audience
- Ensure a safe and clean environment is provided for all Drum Theatre events
- Assist the Technical Operations Officer with all aspects of technical production at the Drum Theatre
Successful candidates will be proficient in the application of standard theatre operating procedures, equipment and services. They will be able to carry out duties associated with lighting and sound operations, bump in and out, rigging and associated administrative and physical tasks. As a customer-focussed role, working within a team, clear and professional communication will be required.
