Recently, the company have invested heavy with new gear for their ever growing inventory that will provide even more for their diverse cliental. This lead Andy Lysle to come to Showtools International and acquire various CHAUVET Professional lighting fixtures after being very impressed with the range when shown a demo by the Showtools team.
“The CHAUVET Professional lighting brand of fixtures really impressed me with their versatility and output across their moving head, profile and static wash light range,” Andy stated. “So, in order to facilitate our growth, we decided it was the perfect choice to go with the CHAUVET Professional fixtures that will take us to the next level.” The acquisition included 18x Rogue R2 Washes, 12x Ovation E-910FCs, 12x Ovation F-915FCs, 8x Maverick MK2 Profiles and 24x COLORdash Par Quad 18’s.
The Rogue R2 Wash is a valuable addition to dlpr lighting inventory. Durable and dependable, this moving wash workhorse produces a bright, powerful light and offers five zones of LED control to pixel map its 19 (15 W) RGBW quad-LEDs. “The R2 Wash utilises a wide (12° to 49°) zoom range which will give us the ability to vary coverage areas, along with colours, to provide a continuous flow of fresh looks for any event,” Andy explained. “The zoom and saturated colours of the R2 Wash really stood out for me and we can stagger the positions of the R2 Washes to create depth, making it the perfect wash fixture.”
Andy went on to describe why he decided to acquire the Maverick MK2 Profile fixtures, “The MK2 Profile versatility was especially important when decided to acquire these fixtures and is one reason why the Maverick was such a logical choice. I can get a lot of different looks, along with an immense level of brightness with its 440 W LED engine, from only 8 fixtures. The Maverick Profiles also provide us complete coverage of any stage, allowing us to cover it with colour and gobo patterns. The Mavericks are definitely multi-purpose fixtures, which was a very important factor,” Andy said. “Ideally, we can use them for aerial effects, and can also rely on them as beams and audience light.”
Andy also needed to upgrade his profile range and as a result acquired some Ovation E-910FC’s ellipsoidals and Ovation F-915FC Fresnels. “The Ovation line of ERS-style LED ellipsoidals and fresnels are the perfect lekos for stage lighting application for theatres, TV, or festivals,” Andy emphasized.
The Ovation E-910FC is a high-performance ERS-style fixture with full RGBA-Lime colour mixing and colour temperature presets of 2800 to 6500 K that match the output of a tungsten source to perfection. “The E-910FC is a perfect ellipsoidal for our needs with ultra-smooth 16-bit dimming of master dimmer and individual colours, flat, even field of light with superior colour mixing and a virtual colour wheel with colour matched to popular gel colours,” stated Andy.
Andy also described the choice to go with the Ovation F-915FC Fresnel, “The Ovation F-915FC is a remarkable LED Fresnel. One of the most impressive features is its ability to reproduce true theatre colours with near perfect CRI, with the LED source having none of the drawbacks of traditional tungsten Fresnels. Andy continued, “This fixture projects a bright beautifully soft, field of light from subtle pastels to punchy saturates and nearly any temperature of white. In addition, a motorized zoom with a 30° – 85° field angle allows us to add light where it is needed.
To round off the CHAUVET Professional acquisition was the COLORdash Par Quad 18’s. “Drawing on the expansive palette of these fixtures, these Quad-18’s will be great for general colour wash,” commented Andy. “Its compact and durable housing make this a great dependable fixture to add to our inventory.”
dlpr also acquired a LightShark LS1 Console off Showtools. “The LS-1 brings together the best features from the world of the LightShark software engine and marries them to an intuitive, ergonomic hardware control surface. 4 encoders, 10 master playbacks and a colour built-in display, combined with a complete set of RGB buttons, give us a full console platform able to manage our shows in a very reduced size, which is compatible with airplane carry-on luggage,” explained Andy.
Andy concluded, “Our CHAUVET Professional lighting package has been working hard for our clients, providing stunning clarity and beautiful colours on everything from the Sydney Writers’ Festival, to KPop Live to UNSW’s Unthinkable.”
