White Bay Power Station was transformed into a vibrant spectacle during the Power Up Festival in September 2024, thanks to the creative vision of dplr production company where they utilised extensive use of TourPro fixtures. Over 50x TourPro SlimPar 18IP were installed throughout the event, delivering dynamic lighting effects and immersive atmospheres that captivated audiences.
Liz Astey, Co-Director of dplr, praised the versatility and performance of the SlimPar 18IP, “We were very impressed with the fixtures due to their compact size, which makes them incredibly versatile for various setups. The power efficiency is also remarkable.” The rear stage lighting setup for the band was equipped with 54x TourPro Slimpar IP18 fixtures, enhancing the overall visual experience. “When we incorporated dynamic chase effects, the output was astonishingly high, creating vibrant and captivating visual displays. This combination of features not only elevates the overall experience during events and performances but also enhances their usability in different environments,” Liz continues.
The TourPro SlimPar 18IP is a high-quality LED PAR equipped with 18 ultra-bright LEDs. It produces a rich, dynamic colour spectrum that’s ideal for both indoor and outdoor events. Its slim, ergonomic design allows seamless integration into any setup, and its IP65-rated housing ensures durability in challenging environments.
At the festival, dplr used 24x SlimPar 18IPs to illuminate the rear of the stage with dramatic band lighting, while 30x SlimPar 18IPs created a warm “rust orange” glow along the interior walls, adding depth and ambience to the venue.
Looking ahead, Liz hinted at plans to elevate their lighting designs even further, “We might use the TourPro Zoom Pars, in addition to the SlimPar 18IPs, for this application next time for even more dynamic effects.” The lighting display and immersing experiences during the Power Up Festival underscore the performance and reliability of TourPro as a reasonable choice to provide visual impact and enhance the overall performance.
