Live event specialist disguise has launched its gx 3, a generative video playback server that the company says allows creatives to break new ground with Notch graphics – the standard for generative content in live entertainment.
Designed for small- to medium-scale extended reality productions for concerts, esports or theme parks, the gx 3 uses a NVIDIA A6000 GPU to enable the generation of over 53,000 Notchmarks. disguise claims this is the highest result from a media server yet and enables users to unlock generative content such as facial tracking, simulation, buffer effects or AI background removal for IMAG.
The single box hardware features three 12G inputs for 4K video and three 4K VFC card outputs, offering more video throughput while also preparing for potential future requirements of live shows. It also includes two 100GigE network ports as standard.
Danny Firpo, co-founder of creative agency All Of It Now, relied on the gx 3 to power Motley Crue’s US stadium tour in the summer of 2022: “The gx 3 is a multipurpose tool, enabling more integrated xR workflows, live shows and more output capabilities, and we were excited to use it on this tour.”
