About the Perth Theatre Trust

The Perth Theatre Trust (the Trust) is a statutory authority established and constituted under the Perth Theatre Trust Act 1979 to oversee the management and operation of theatres vested or leased to the Trust by the State Government.

The Trust is responsible for the care, control, management, maintenance, operation and improvement of theatres under its control which currently includes the Albany Entertainment Centre, His Majesty’s Theatre, Subiaco Arts Centre and the State Theatre Centre of WA.

The Perth Theatre Trust is part of the Culture and Arts Division, brought together by the Department of Local Government, Sport and Cultural Industries (DLGSC).

About the role

We are seeking a dynamic and suitably experienced person to fill the full-time (1 FTE) position of Director Technical Services to be based at the State Theatre Centre of WA.

The Director will encourage and support a culture of safety first, continuous improvement and customer service excellence within the Technical Department. The Director’s key focuses will include developing the accountabilities, skills and capabilities of staff, driving event productivity and maintaining cost competitiveness for users.

The delivery of sustainable technical outcomes will be vital in the planning, development, service delivery and maintenance of the technical infrastructure and technical environments within Perth Theatre Trust venues.

The position will be for an initial fixed term period to 30 November 2020.

A current (within 6 months) National Police Clearance Certificate will be required prior to commencement of employment.

This vacancy is a fixed term appointment and documentary evidence of your entitlement to live and work in Australia is a condition of the contract.

Location

This role is based at the State Theatre Centre of WA, 174-176 William Street, Perth WA. (*Please note there may be some travel to the Albany Entertainment Centre as part of the work-related requirements).

The PTT Executive Office is based at His Majesty’s Theatre, 825 Hay Street, Perth, and the Director Technical Services may also be required to work from His Majesty’s Theatre at times.
