Digital Lighting Solutions provide lighting, LED screens and theming to the corporate, concert and events industry from their base in Stapylton, Queensland, which sits between the Gold Coast and Brisbane. Owner Jesse Radatti runs a tight crew, and when it came time to replace an aged GrandMA console, he asked his trusted staff what they wanted. The answer came back unanimously; a High End Systems Road Hog 4.
“My crew of regulars all use and love Hogs”, said Jesse. “Between that, the pricing, and the finance Lexair was offering, buying the Road Hog 4 was a no-brainer.” The Hog has already been out supporting corporate events, and also assisted in marking ANZAC Day. A typical gig for Digital Lighting Solutions will see their Road Hog 4 controlling a variety of moving head fixtures via both wired and wireless DMX, more than capably handled by the four fixed universes of DMX 512 on-board, and up to eight universes of DMX 512 available over ArtNet or sACN.
At just 68×70 centimetres, the Road Hog 4 is perfect for gigs where real estate is at a premium. While remaining unobtrusive, the 22” ten-point multi touch screen, ten faders and four encoders ensure everything can be accessed quickly and easily. And if Digital Lighting Solutions need the Hog to expand, five USB ports on-board can connect Wholehog wings and additional touchscreens.
Feedback from the field has been positive. “It’s already proven itself to be a really good desk,” Jesse continued. “In particular, the team all reckon the effects engine is awesome.” In addition to his core of regulars, Jesse often brings in casual operators when business gets busy. “That’s another reason I bought the Road Hog 4,” explained Jesse. “Everybody with experience in corporate events knows how to use it. That makes it easy for me to hire operators.”
In addition to providing a killer finance deal, Lexair have backed up the deal with top-notch support. “Lexair support is great!” reported Jesse “They always answer the phone and reply to questions on Facebook. We see them every time they’re in Queensland. In fact, they’re coming up here next week to give me some more training on the Road Hog 4 so I can keep up with my crew!”
