Deputy Head of Lighting, Sydney Theatre Company

The Deputy Head of Lighting is employed as full time employee of Sydney Theatre Company. The position is for an initial 2-year fixed term.

The usual rostered hours of work are 40 per week. You will be expected to work overtime when the productions necessitate it. Overtime will be calculated as per the terms and conditions of the Enterprise Agreement.

The position is based at The Wharf, Sydney Theatre Company, Pier 4 Hickson Road, Walsh Bay.

2. Salary and Entitlements

* 40 hours per week (Plus overtime)
* $34.42 per hour
* 5 weeks annual leave
* 10% superannuation
* Complimentary tickets whilst employed (subject to availability)

* Relevant tertiary education
* At least 4 years experience as a Theatrical Head Electrician.
* Experience in various lighting desks, and preferably the ETC EOS Family
* High level of competency in all aspects of theatrical lighting and electronics for operation of theatre equipment.
* Competency in AV projectors and media servers for use in theatre.
* An appreciation of the art form of theatre, especially in an Australian context.
* Highly developed interpersonal and negotiation skills, with strong interpersonal sensitivity.
* Strong entrepreneurial spirit, a self-starter and an ability to lead a technical team.
* Ability to perform under pressure and to successfully interact with professional associates, staff and sponsors.
* Computer skills including cad, database, email, excel and Lightwright.
