Sydney Theatre Company and Michael Cassel Group are looking for highly motivated, multiskilled team players to fulfill various technical roles on the upcoming production of Dear Evan Hansen, opening in Sydney in October 2024 at the Roslyn Packer Theatre, and then touring through 2025.

Applicants must be either Sydney or Melbourne based.
Successful applicants will be engaged on separate contracts for the Sydney season (Sydney Theatre Company), and the tour (Michael Cassel Group), which may include international seasons. Roles indicated ‘From December 2024 onwards’ will not be required for the Sydney season. Successful applicants will be required to travel domestically for work, and with the possibility of international travel.
STAGE MANAGER
Duties may include (but are not limited to): directing activities of the stage management department, organising and supervising all rehearsal and production requirements including weekly company scheduling, performance duties within the stage management department, covering the show call and regularly calling the show, attending rehearsals, assisting with publicity and marketing requests as required.
ASSISTANT STAGE MANAGER (DECEMBER 2024 ONWARDS)
Duties may include (but are not limited to): assisting with activities of the stage management department, covering multiple show plots within the stage management department and for other departments (e.g. props, mechanist, flys), attending and coordinating rehearsals, assisting with publicity and marketing requests as required.
HEAD MECHANIST
Duties may include (but are not limited to): directing activities of the mechanical, flys and automation crew (including local crew in each tour city), performance and maintenance duties within the technical department, creation of plots/rosters/checklists and reports to a level that allows the production to be remounted at a later date, and participating in the loadin and load-out of these elements for each tour season as required by the Production Manager and Staging Supervisor.
DEPUTY HEAD MECHANIST
Duties may include (but are not limited to): assisting in directing activities of the mechanical, flys and automation crew (including local crew in each tour city), performance and maintenance duties within the technical department, and participating in the load-in and load-out of these elements for each tour season as required by the Production Manager and Staging Supervisor.
HEAD ELECTRICIAN (DECEMBER 2024 ONWARDS)
Duties may include (but are not limited to): directing activities of the lighting department (including local crew in each tour city), performance and maintenance duties within the lighting department, creation of plots/rosters/checklists and reports to a level that allows the production to be remounted at a later date, and participating in the load-in and load-out of these elements for each tour season as required by the Production Manager and Lighting Supervisor.
DEPUTY HEAD ELECTRICIAN & BOARD OPERATOR
Duties may include (but are not limited to): directing activities of the lighting department (including local crew in each tour city), operating the lighting board during performances, performance and maintenance duties within the lighting department, and participating in the load-in and load-out of these elements for each tour season as required by the Production Manager and Lighting Supervisor.
HEAD OF SOUND
Duties may include (but are not limited to): directing the activities of the sound department (including local crew in each tour city), operating the sound desk to mix each performance, audio system maintenance and performance duties, creation of plots/rosters/checklists and reports to a level that allows the production to be remounted at a later date, participating in the load-in and load-out of the audio and music-related elements of the production for each tour season as required by the Production Manager and Sound Supervisor.
DEPUTY HEAD OF SOUND
Duties may include (but are not limited to): assisting in directing the activities of the sound department, learning the sound desk mix of each performance and regularly sound mixing the production, audio system maintenance and performance duties, participating in the loadin and load-out of the audio and music-related elements of the production for each tour season as required by the Production Manager and Sound Supervisor.
VIDEO OPERATOR
Duties may include (but are not limited to): operating video for each performance (including live video and pre-recorded content), video system maintenance and performance duties, creation of plots/rosters/checklists and reports to a level that allows the production to be remounted at a later date, participating in the load-in and load-out of the video related elements of the production for each tour season as required by the Production Manager and Video Supervisor.
