The Site Crew plays a key role in bringing Dark Mofo to life, responsible for building, installing, and dismantling festival infrastructure across the site. Experience with hand tools, carpentry, and plant operation (such as forklifts or scissor lifts) is an advantage, but not essential.
Site Manager
Site Managers oversee the day-to-day operation of designated festival sites, ensuring infrastructure, safety, and operations run smoothly. This role coordinates contractors, crew, and stakeholders while responding to live operational issues. Strong experience in site or event operations is essential.
Venue Manager
Venue Managers are responsible for the safe and efficient operation of assigned venues during Dark Mofo. This includes managing staff and contractors, monitoring patron movement, and responding to operational and safety issues in real time. Experience in venue or event management is highly desirable.
Artist Liaison
Artist Liaisons support artists throughout their engagement with Dark Mofo, acting as a primary point of contact before and during the festival. Strong communication skills and experience in live events or working with artists are highly desirable.
Artist Driver
Artist Drivers are responsible for transporting artists safely and professionally to and from performances, accommodation, and other scheduled commitments. This role requires discretion, reliability, and strong time management. A full driver’s licence and familiarity with the local area are essential.
Stage Manager
Stage Managers oversee the safe and efficient delivery of performances, coordinating artists, crew, and technical teams to maintain schedules. Strong leadership, clear communication, and proven experience in stage management or live event production are essential.
Stage Hand / Tech Team
Stage Hands and Technical Crew support the setup, operation, and pack-down of performance infrastructure, including staging, audio, lighting, and backline. This role suits people comfortable with physical work in live environments. Prior experience is desirable but not essential.
Audio / Lighting Technician
Audio and Lighting Technicians are responsible for the setup, operation, and maintenance of technical systems during performances. This role requires proven experience in live sound and/or lighting, strong technical knowledge, and the ability to work under pressure in live environments.
Design Crew
The Design Crew supports the installation, maintenance, and removal of visual elements across Dark Mofo sites. This may include signage, artworks, lighting features, and spatial design elements. Practical skills, attention to detail, and experience in installation-based roles are desirable.
Runner
Runners provide flexible, on-the-ground support across Dark Mofo operations, assisting with warehouse logistics and time-critical tasks as required. This role suits someone reliable, adaptable, and comfortable working in a fast-paced festival environment. A current driver’s licence is essential.
Front of House
Front of House team members are the first point of contact for Dark Mofo patrons, assisting with queuing, ticket scanning, and wayfinding throughout the site. Customer service experience and confidence engaging with the public are highly desirable.
Bars
The Bars team works across Dark Mofo bar venues, serving drinks, operating point-of-sale systems, and delivering efficient, friendly service in a fast-paced environment. A current RSA is essential, and hospitality or customer service experience is highly desirable.
Back of House Help Desk – Winter Feast
The Help Desk is the central communications hub for Winter Feast operations, managing the flow of information across the site with a strong focus on supporting stallholders and operational teams. Strong organisational and administrative skills are essential, and experience in hospitality, events or operational environments is highly regarded.
